Babies are born every single day. Everyone loves them and wants to be holding them because they are just so cute and adorable, and you can’t resist just not holding them. Due to babies being so cute they get to go to many places to see new things they even get to travel to different places at such a young age with their mom and dad.
Babies get to meet their grandma and grandpas. Not only that they get to meet all of their amazing aunts and uncles from both sides of their families. This will cause the baby and the family to have a very close bond so when the baby gets older, he or she will be able to bond with their family better because the baby will recognize them. However, have you ever taken the time to wonder if a baby or toddler can remember what happened to them or where they went or even who they saw the day that they were born?
Well, let me tell you it’s been said that babies and toddlers cannot remember anything at all. In 2025, Donna Lu wrote the, “Why Can’t We Remember Our Lives as Babies or Toddlers?” article. Lu elaborated that many babies and toddlers can’t remember anything because their brain hides all of the earliest beginning of their childhood. This means that even though we know what happens in the baby’s life the baby does not know because their brain can’t keep things in their tiny little heads like we can due to this their brain can’t function like ours at such a young age. One phrase that Lu stated was, “Infantile amnesia…” (3).
Every time I hear the word infant I remember that I was once a small and tiny baby that did not know anything, I did not know that my mom was my mom and that my dad was my dad, but I’m sure that I got to go to many places and see different colors, foods, animals, cities, trees, and animals as a baby. Although I do not remember anything from when I was a baby, I for sure now know what’s been happening in my life and I want to keep making more memories that will last forever so I can have a bunch of memories with my family and friends and I can look back at and smile or even have them to just hang up in my room or in my mirror or wall.
