The popular mukbang YouTuber, Nikocado Avocado, known for eating enormous amounts of food on camera, fooled the internet by completing a secret weight loss journey while uploading old videos to mask his progress.
“Today, I woke up from a very long dream, and I also woke up having lost 250 pounds off of my body. And just yesterday, people were calling me fat and sick and boring and irrelevant,” Nikocado said in his latest video.
“People are the most messed-up creatures on the entire planet, and yet I’ve still managed to stay two steps ahead of everyone. The joke’s on you.”
The video, titled “Two Steps Ahead,” got more than 26 million views over the weekend. He said it took about two years to lose the weight, going from 411 pounds at his heaviest to 158 pounds today.
“I have been strategically posting pre-recorded videos for 2 years, on both YouTube and TikTok. I edited the videos so that they would appear recent, allowing me to focus on healing my body behind the scenes.”
He later said, “I shaved my head so that people wouldn’t recognize me in public. A handful of fellow YouTubers also helped to keep my secret.”
After the big unveil, Nikocado dived back into his usual mukbang content, finishing the video by clearing out a massive tray of spicy black bean noodles.
I gathered opinions of Pitman High School students on Nikocado Avocado. I asked, “What do you think about the Nikocado Avocado “Two steps ahead video”?
Adam Collins, a junior answered, “It’s an enormous achievement….he is a true villain and hero.”
I also asked if he thought that the transformation was true and he then added, “I truly believe he did lose the weight.…everything adds up there is no way he faked it.”
My last question to him was, “How did he film the cameos if he was losing weight the whole time?”
He responded, “I saw a video on Instagram of a cameo that a fan ordered, its a video of Nikocado Avocado putting his head down on purpose trying to make his double chin look bigger and he was talking about how he lost like 80 pounds or something around there….he also could have pre recorded the cameos somehow.”
I interviewed another student walking around compass who would like to stay anonymous. I asked them, “Do you think Nikacado Avocados weight loss is real or fake?”
They then answered, “I think it was fake there was no way he could have done that and pre recorded all those videos it just make no sense to me”
For my last interview I interviewed Emiliano Nunez Parra, a sophomore, and asked him one question which was, “What do you think about the Nikocado Avocado weight loss?”
