Why are service dogs important?
Service dogs are amazing animals who are meant for people who have health problems such as blindness, diabetes, seizures, ptsd, etc. Some people might ask what the point of having a service dog is? The answer is that these dogs help people alert their owner when they have low sugar or even warn their owners before they are about to have a seizure. Service dogs are trained to help people whenever they are in need of help, for example they can open and close doors, pick up items from the floor, ect. These dogs also help people who are blind by guiding them; they also help people who are impaired. For example, service dogs are allowed to be at shops, schools, hotels, and restaurants where animals are not usually allowed. Most service dogs can change people’s lives by giving them company if they are sad or depressed. These dogs can also improve the life and quality of a human being. Some benefits of having a service dog are that it guides their humans away from hazards.
Background information about service dogs.
Some background information about service dogs is that they were not legally recognized until the American disability law was passed in 1990. The first ever service dog was trained in 1929. The first ever law that involved service dogs was under the American disability acts. This law is what protects the service dogs that are actual service dogs and get the service dogs that are not real in trouble. Due to this, people go online to purchase fake service dog vests and put them on their dogs just to make it seem like they own a service dog. This unfortunate act would cause problems in store because the people who made it seem like they needed a service dog could not control their nonservice dog which would cause the dog to attack the other dogs that are a real service dog. So, in conclusion if you don’t need a service dog, please don’t make it seem like you do because this can cause a lot of problems that don’t need to be happening which can cause a big scene in public for no reason.
