The global fertility rate will gradually decline from now through 2100. Continuing a trend since 1950, driven largely by female educational attainment and contraception access. This will lead to many occupations open leaving us with little to no service and/ or resources. I interviewed some women on this topic, and this is what they think.
I asked Naomi Lara her opinion on The Fertility rates dropping in the U.S. and her response was: “I am Naomi L. I am an 11th grader and I go to Pitman High School. I think that dropping birth rates will lower the future employment rate in the United States, and that is horrible because with low employment means we won’t be able to access things like we can now.”
I also asked Turlock resident Loretta Smith her opinion on the fertility rates in the United States dropping and her response was: “My opinion is that if the fertility rates drop, there will be less people on this earth. I think that this is a bad thing because, in the world we have to renew and if people stop having children, our bloodlines won’t be able to live on.”
I believe that with very few people running the United States, it may actually be a safer place, but in order to have a strong country, we need to have a lot of people running it, not a small population. Increased supply of labor, increased productivity, increased consumption, higher quality of living.
Larger studies provide stronger and more reliable results because they have smaller margins of error and lower standards of deviation. A large population is just better. The pros of high population density include access to resources, cultural diversity, economic growth, increased demand for goods and services, and cost efficiency.
The cons of high population density include limited resources, increased levels of pollution, social problems, and pressure on the natural environment. When you have a large population there is more money, more products, more businesses. More cons to having a large population is that more people means an increased demand for food, water, housing, energy, healthcare, transportation, and more.
All that consumption contributes to ecological degradation, increased conflicts, and a higher risk of large-scale disasters like pandemics. Population growth is the increase in the number of people living in a particular area. Since populations can grow exponentially, resource depletion can occur rapidly, leading to specific environmental concerns such as global warming, deforestation and decreasing biodiversity.
In conclusion, my opinion on the fertility rate dropping is a big no. We need more people on this earth to supply jobs, support the world, and so we all can have acquaintances, it’s a key essential to life. Life without a big population would be horrible, we need friends to talk to, people we have similarities with, etc.
