The holidays are finally here! Here are some events to celebrate with friends and family in Turlock during the Christmas season.
One of our Turlock biggest holiday events is the annual Christmas Parade. The parade is held on the first Friday of December which will landed on December 1st this year. There were lots of local vendors downtown that set up and sold during the parade and are very important to support during the holiday season. If you happen to be a member of the Carnegie Arts Center, they provide a special viewing area and receive complimentary drinks and snacks provided by the arts center. Floats from all over the area were there to represent their local business, family, and groups followed by local police and fire trucks bringing Santa through the parade. All were welcome to enter in the parade as long as they signed up early enough. The downtown area has been decorated with Christmas lights and decorations as well as everything in the parade. Groups from our own school have participated in many past years and will continue to in the future such as band, colorguard, and FFA club. We hope you kicked off the Christmas season on the first day of December and supported our town!
Turlock Community Gardens hosted a winter festival on December 9th from 11am-3pm. The event included local vendors, kids business market, food, music, storytelling, balloon animals, and pant and seed trading. You joined to participate in free arts and crafts provided in the Gardens. They also hosted a community item swap and a plant trading station. This event was a great place for people to enjoy their creativity and have fun in the Christmas spirit while supporting the vendors and children of our community.
If you would like to see some of the best Christmas lights in town, visit Christmas Tree Lane! People are welcome to either drive or walk through the neighborhood and take pictures as long as they are respectful of the property and keep a reasonable distance. This has been a tradition in Turlock for many years and the residents have lots of beautifully themed decorations and picture spots.
