Best Retro Games

Today I will go over some of the most popular retro video games that proposed a brand new and interesting concept brought to the player. First up on our list is Space Invaders, a very classic game that just about everyone knows about it regardless of whether you are not even a gamer. 

The game consists of a character fighting across a large army of alien ships that and his/her goal is to destroy the mothership along with the rest of the ships. Space invaders many different versions and are widely regarded as one of the best video games ever. 

Next up on our list is Donkey Kong it too is widely known among the population and is also the for the Mario series featuring Mario as the protagonist trying to climb various ladders to save Princess Peach from Donkey Kong. The series is very large and vast and has many different variations. 

The third game on our list is Sonic the Hedgehog 1991. Published on the Sega Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog or, Sonic One released in 1991 and has since been the starter to other varies sonic games throughout.

 It’s a sixteen-bit platformer in which you play as the main protagonist Sonic the Hedgehog who also became the face of SEGA. Sonic is a fun platformer with its own unique twists and varieties. Jumping ahead into the 1990s of gaming came Starfox 64. A game set in a futuristic alternate reality where you play as a fox known as Fox Mccloud. You go through multiple levels fighting large spaceships to giant fish and robots The game released in 1997.

 Released in 1996 Mario 64 came to the spotlight the first of the Super Mario series. Bringing all the content the Mario series brought involving platforming and flattening Koopa Troopas and Goombas. Next up on the list is the start of the arena shooters. Quake released in 1996 the game ran similar to the franchise Doom or Wolfenstein and brought many people to the gaming genre. The game has had many successors and has become a popular multiplayer series.

 Mario Kart 64 released December 14th, 1996 and was the successor to the first Mario Kart game. But Mario Kart 64 is still regarded as one of if not the best of the Mario Kart franchise. Next up Legend of Zelda was released in 1986 was a very beloved video game and received praise for its open-world experience and controls Legend of Zelda has also had many successors that have performed just as well as its starter.

Goldeneye 007 was released in 1997 on Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong 64 released in 1999 on the Nintendo 64, Doom 64 released in 1997 on the Nintendo 64, Eternal Darkness was released in 2002 on Gamecube, Resident Evil 2 was released in 1998 on Nintendo 64, Body Harvest released in 1998, and finally the Gauntlet, released in 1998 on Nintendo 64.
