WORLD SERIES RECAP

Hit after hit home run after home run, both teams battled to bring home the World Series Championship title but the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers after seven long and intense games.

GAME 1

  The first game of the world series was won by Dodgers 3-1 at their home stadium. Dodgers did have a home field advantage but they controlled most of the game. Astros had been struggling on the road for the most part during regular season but they have been progressively improving. Dodgers play their best at home and this was proved against the Astros.

GAME 2

Houston jumped out in front of this game looking to take charge scoring the first run on a hit by Alex Bregman from the Astros. Jock Petersen and Corey Seager from the Dodgers hit two solo home runs to take the lead 2-1. Correa (Astros) hits a single to make the score 2-2 in the the top of the eighth inning. Then Gonzalez hits a solo home run to tie it all up 3-3. In extra innings, Houston came out on top winning 6-7.

GAME 3

Carlos Gourriel for the Astros started the game by hitting a home run. Later in that same inning, Gonzalez (A)  hits a single with two runners on making the score 2-0. That inning ended up coming to its end after the Astros put on 4 runs making it 4-0. They ended up winning game three with a final score of 5-3.

GAME 4

Game 4 mainly came down to defence and both teams made tough plays. In the 6th inning Dodgers looked to break the ice with a runner on 3rd but Standout Bregman denied them getting the runner at home. Both teams went on head to head hitting and fielding but Astros came out with the W with the score being 5-4.

GAME 5

One game that stuck out the most was game five. It started of with the Dodgers scoring first top of the first (2-0). In the bottom of the fourth, Dodgers were up 4 to 1 and Astros had one out with runners on second and third and Yulie Gourriel hits a bomb to left field tieing up the game. The two teams battled back and forth but later found themselves tied up in the ninth inning. In the tenth inning, Astros ended up winning 13-12.

GAME 6

Dodgers took game 6 winning 3-1 forcing a game 7 where winner takes all. This was a big game for the Dodgers as they were right on the margin of being defeated after all there hard work. This was another tough game as Astros wanted to go home early with the Championship and Dodgers wanted to stay alive.

GAME 7

Fortunately Houston Astros won winning their first World Series Championship!! They won 5-7 being able to control the entire ball game. Astros jumped ahead in the first inning making it two to zero. Dodgers had a chance to tie it up with loaded bases and two outs but could not execute. Dodgers ended up only scoring one run and Astros showed of their sticks and their leather which they excelled well while doing.

This was the first World Series won by the Astros and it meant a lot to them and the people in Houston.
