A New Bowling Alley Rolls its Way Into Turlock

The last time it had been known for Turlock to have a bowling alley was back in 1997 with Hometown Lanes. Since then, Turlock has long needed a fun, family center and a bowling alley, along with an arcade and laser tag, is just what it needs.

There have been many attempts to revive a family center, but it was never established because of financial backing. Planning for this Ten Pin Fun Center began after the dream of a bowling complex being placed right across the street from Stanislaus State were crushed due to the lack of financial backup.

A shift of time, economy, and people’s attitudes was all that was needed to help this project materialize.

This new bowling alley, which is part of Ten Pin Fun Center, will be located in the vacant spot of land near Lowe’s. The complex is a 52,000 square-foot building placed on a 5.2 acre-plot of land and just a five-minute drive away from Pitman High School. Bowling fanatics in Turlock will no longer have to leave town and drive a great distance just to go spend their time bowling.

The bowling alley comes with 26 Brunswick bowling lanes, a rental desk, a pro shop, and a small sports bar. For those who are not interested in bowling, they could head over to the arcade with a redemption area or make their way to the two-story laser tag arena. There will also be party rooms available to hold birthday parties, banquets, and bachelor parties.

There is some hope and skepticism circulating around about how successful this long planned project will turn out. It can either be joyfully accepted and welcomed or it will be ignored and denied as it has been in the past.
