Ice Rink Skates Back Into Turlock
November 28, 2016
ce skating always brings holiday vibes to life and it is a great tradition during the chilly weather and the holidays. Luckily Turlock’s Fields of Ice, located at 716 N. Daubenberger Road, has returned on Friday, November 18th. The Rink is open from 10am to 10pm and on Monday through Thursday, child admission is $9 and regular admission is $11. On Friday through Sunday, child admission is $11 and regular is $13.
A Junior at Pitman High School, Ricardo Brenes commented, “Well I’ve never ice skated and would probably fall on my face if I did. But the Rink seems like a creative, fun idea. And Turlock needs some more activities like this,” when asked how he felt about the ice skating rink.
To fully bring the holidays to life, Turlock’s Field of Ice is open on Thanksgiving Day from 2pm to 10pm, Christmas Eve from 10am to 6pm, Christmas Day from 2pm to 10pm, and New Years Eve from 10am to 10pm. So if one is looking for something fun to do during those holidays, drinking hot cocoa and going ice skating is a great option.
If one has never wanted to learn how to skate, the Fields of Ice has its own ice skating coach. Adrienne Anderson offers a variety of classes and lessons for all ages. Group classes are offered on Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 4:30pm and Saturday afternoons from 4:30 to 5pm. It costs $25 and includes ice time, skate rental, and a half hour lesson with Anderson.
Another very cool, interesting thing about the Fields of Ice is they sell Christmas trees. An even more interesting tid bit is that they offer a fundraiser opportunity for groups, clubs, and churches. All one’s group has to do is print and distribute the fundraising flyers. When the group’s supporters buy a Christmas Tree from Fields of Ice between November 26 and December 13, the Rink will donate 10% of the sales price back to the club, school, church, or group. Muriel Carrieri said on the Fields of Ice site, “Thank you, Fields of Ice, for providing another fabulous source of family entertainment in Turlock.”
