2016 Modesto Marathon

The 7th annual Modesto marathon took place this Sunday on March 20th 2016. This year’s marathon was sponsored by Surgical Artistry. The Modesto marathon has been bringing local communities together to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle for years now. The marathon, half marathon, 5k and relay are a great way to bring family and friends together. If interested, individuals can sign up today at the modesto marathon website for next year’s events.

This years event had over 3,445 participants from all over, ready to run. Runners who placed for all four events are included below along with sponsors who provided runners with athletic clothing, food, and drinks during the events expo.

We even have students from Pitman who participated in this years events. One individual Josh Van Allen (11th) placed first in the 5k out of 1,232 runners, talk about impressive. Another student by the name of Sarah Siegel (10th) won the 14-18 age group for the half marathon and bet the school record with 1:49:43.

This was a great year for the Modesto marathon and they will continue to promote a healthy lifestyle for years to come.
