The 2014 thriller-horror film, “Ouija,” was released on October 24 with a running time of approximately 89 minutes. The film stars Olivia Cooke, Ana Coto, Shelly Hennig, Daren Kagasoff, Douglas Smith, and Bianca A. Santos; followed by the director of the film, Stiles White.
The film opens up with a young Laine Morris (Cooke) and Debbie Galardi (Hennig) playing with an Ouija board but eventually interrupted by Laine’s sister, Sarah. After that scene, the film fast forwards into the present day where Debbie is playing with the board again all by herself. However, she then notices unusual and creepy things happen in her large, empty house. She then realizes this was all happening because of the board so she attempts to burn it. Right after Debbie “burns” the board, Laine, her best friend invites her to go out with her and she refuses to go. After Debbie sent Laine away, she goes back into her room and sees that the board has reappeared. She then at that very second becomes possessed and hangs herself.
As the movie continues, Debbie’s best friend, Laine, and her boyfriend, Trevor (Kagasoff), start to investigate and they find the Ouija Board. They use the board thinking they might be able to talk to Debbie’s spirit. Once they realize that they have awoken an evil spirit, the spirit does not leave the cast alone. Before you know it, bodies start to pile up. Laine has to do anything she can to kill the spirit.
“It is not the worst …but it’s one of the worst horror movies of the year,” declared by a critic on metacritic.
