The year everyone looks forward to: the Ferrero Rocher of chocolates, the gold of elements, the cherry on top of the sundae: senior year. High school is supposed to be one of the best, most memorable experiences of your life and above all that, as a senior you have seniority.
If you ask some people what senior year is like for them, they will reply with, “It’s not what it’s cut out to be.” But I’m here to say that if you play your cards right your first three years of high school and you’re not afraid to show who you are, your senior year should and will be a blast. I am Marissa Jensen, and I am finally a senior here at Pitman High School.
My senior year thus far hasn’t been what you would say a “normal” school year. I have been to school 3 ½ weeks out of a total 8 because of illness and chemotherapy treatments. Disregard my absences – I am still a part of Dance Club, Animal Club, Journalism, FFA, and I am a cheerleader here at Pitman. Being only two months in, I can’t wait to see what the rest of senior year has in store.
