The HTC One has been dubbed one of the top android phones to come out this year, whose only close competitor would be the long anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 HTC has been trying to provide many varieties or selections of phones, often causing them not to focus intuitively on just one phone, which in turn has given it a bad reputation in the making and performance of their phones. But, HTC now has changed that by narrowly focusing on the phone that they believe will regain their reputation and once again give it a spot in being a smartphone tycoon along with Apple and Samsung.
So far the HTC has been able to live up to the expectation, just with the look of it. The HTC One case is constructed of aluminum, a big advantage over the upcoming Galaxy S4, which will be made of the same mundane plastic as the Galaxy S3. As a result, the HTC One is a little heavier than the Galaxy S3 but it feels more substantial in the hand and better constructed. The aluminum body hugs the phone in a sleek sloping design that is no thicker than the iPhone 5. With zero gap construction and tapered edges that offer a slim but satisfying grip.
As more smartphones are coming into the market with higher megapixels on their devices- the phone’s rear camera is 4-megapixels, lower than the 8-megapixel camera on the iPhone 5 and the 13-megapixel camera on the upcoming Galaxy S4. HTC claims it uses a camera sensor that is better at capturing light photons. In many recent reviews, the HTC One’s camera has been substantially better at taking pictures in low-light conditions.
When it comes to sound, the HTC does not hold back. Partnered with Beats by Dr. Dre, the new HTC One’s BoomSound changes all that. Dual frontal stereo speakers powered by built-in amplifiers deliver bigger sound with less distortion and more detail. It certainly beats the tinny sound coming from any other smartphone and makes the experience of listening to music or watching a video without headphones much better.
The phone has a full HD 1080p screen that has 468 pixels-per-inch, which is higher than any other phone. The phone clocks out at 1.7Gz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad core chip. However, the phone does not come with ability of expanding its memory and can only be purchased with 32 or 64 GB of memory. The HTC One runs on a version of the Android operating system called Jellybean. A big feature added by HTC is BlinkFeed, a news aggregator that becomes your home page. It collects Internet news stories most interesting to you and displays them in a magazine-style layout, similar to the popular mobile app Flipboard.
Overall, the HTC One is a great phone that will claim considerable attention in the android market. With Boomsound, high resolution, appealing entertainment capabilities, innovative interface, and gorgeous construction the HTC One definitely has the characteristics of a technological success.
