343 Studios just recently released its latest DLC for Halo 4, Castle Map Pack. Once again named after one of the Spartan fire teams appears in the Spartan ops missions of Halo 4, Castle Map Pack features three new maps, each one with its own distinct environment and layout. The first map, Daybreak, is an asymmetric map sit in a rocky terrain. It features two bases and plenty of terrain in between that makes perfect for sniping, ambushing and flanking. This map has a great backdrop as well as great scenery and detail on the map itself. The generic map has light vehicles, and a banshee, all vehicles that force players to take an aggressive approach towards eliminating their enemies that require speed and maneuvering.
The second map is Outcast; a close quarter’s map set those bearing canyons of an alien world, this math is rather large and features many areas that could be used as potential chokepoints. The generic map starts out with heavy vehicles as well as light vehicles making this map ideal for large battles between groups of players. On this map players will be able to use both the wraith as well as the mantis. The map is both vehicle oriented as well as un-mounted oriented as well; in this map, players to see plenty of face-to-face combat, with not much flank area.
The file map is Perdition; a map set in an urban environment it features both close combat and long-range. Why vehicles here once again, this map has lots of close quarters areas around the outside and large open areas on the inside making it suitable for the use of vehicle combat. Players will find a style game play work on this map. Also being an urban environment this map features interesting scenery details that have not yet been seen in other urban maps.
Castle Map Pack features three unique maps that are unlike others that have seen before, giving players something fresh to work with on Halo 4. All serious Halo 4 players should consider purchasing Castle map pack if they have not already, is definitely worth the money. The map pack is already available to those who have the WarGames pass and will cost others 800 Microsoft points, which translates to $10. It can be purchased on the Xbox live marketplace under the game add-on section or they can be accessed from the Halo four main menus in the marketplace section.
