There are many people in the pool during 6th period as swim season gets closer and closer. Among them is fellow swimmer Chelsea Adware who comments, “The pool is getting more and more crowded and it’s getting a little hard to avoid hitting people.” Though inconvenient forChelsea, this simple reality demonstrates the great number of people who are looking forward to the start of the swimming season this year.

During the time that the swimmers are training for the season, they have some competition. Sometimes they’ll compete in relays, making a fun way to get faster. They’ve had time trials, which are like mini meets. During the time trails, the coaches get to get a glimpse of the swimmers strengths and weaknesses. The swimmers also get a feel of what they really enjoy swimming and the races that they don’t like very much.
All of the swimmers are excited to get the season started. They all have the races in mind that they want to swim. They are looking forward to the swim meets and the close friendships that form during the season. The team becomes close, like a family, and supports each other in what they do.
