One of the leading brands in the smartphone market today would definitely be the Samsung Galaxy. They are a series of mobile devices that have a variety of functions. Along with Nokia and Apple, Samsung is in the top of the mobile device market. With powerhouses like the Samsung Galaxy SIII and the Samsung Galaxy Note II, it’s no wonder that they can compete with even the revolutionary software and mass appeal that Apple has gained over the years. The iPhone has become a common household name over the years, but recently Samsung has brought out new features within their phones that have pulled away from the all too familiar iOS software that Apple has used year after year. On the other hand, Samsung has brought into play features such as S-voice, S-beam, Ice Cream Sandwich software, and their upcoming Jelly Bean software update. Sure some of the features like S-voice may sound a bit too similar to Apple’s counterpart, Siri, but nothing is particularly original these days.

Weighing in at 133 grams the S3 is a bit more heavy than the iPhone 5 which comes in at 112 grams. In terms of pixelation and high resolution displays both the iPhone 5 and the S3 are heavy weight contenders. The S3 however just has enough pixels to overtake the iPhone 5, with 1280×780 resolution and the iPhone 5 having 1136×640 resolution. Both mobile devices are equipped with the ability of using 4g LTE, the latest in wireless connection and data service. The S3 also has a front-facing camera like the iPhone 5, but with much more megapixels, having 1.9 megapixels, where as the iPhone only has 0.9 megapixels. They are both capable of shooting 1080p resolution videos and have the same specs for Wi-Fi use (2.4GHz, 5GHz dual band). Though they both have beautiful displays, in this case, size does matter and the S3 takes the cake for that category. The S3 has 4.8” Super AMOLED while the iPhone 5 has 4” LCD Retina Display. Both the phones have the same price, unless you purchase a 64GB iPhone 5.
It’s true that some people will always be those hardcore Apple die-hard fans, but if you are feeling a little adventurous and want to take something else for a spin, you should definitely check out the Samsung Galaxy’s phones. They have a wide range of smartphones that are sure to fit any of your needs and entertainment wants. Also, with something that can rival the iPhone 5, you can’t go wrong!
