Last year, Pitman volleyball won the championship and took the Triple Crown. With perseverance and hard work,PitmanHigh School’s volleyball team did it again. The Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity were all undefeated. From the beginning of the season, Pitman had a very strong volleyball team.
One of Pitman’s secrets to keeping such a great team is almost ever player plays year round in club volleyball. On the freshman team, a few of the players have played club for more than one year. On the On the Junior Varsity team, about ten of the teammates have played for a few years. The Varsity players have been playing club for more than three years. This keeps all of the players in shape and their volleyball skills improving all year long.
Another way Pitman keeps such a strong team is they are always working out. All of the Pitman volleyball teams condition every single practice of the season. The Varsity team conditions for about an hour to an hour and a half each practice. The Freshman and Junior Varsity conditions for about an hour each practice. Conditioning keeps all the teams in shape.
Every player on the Pitman volleyball team has participated to their success. On Varsity, some of the players have had an outstanding season. Sophomore Madison Haltemen has had a great first year as the Varsity setter. She has really consistent serves and she has really outstanding sets. Also, Sophomore Lindsey Vanderweide has had a successful second year on Varsity as their middle hitter and blocker. Her hits are very strong and she can get on top of the ball extremely well. Her blocking is incredible and is very consistent. On the Junior Varsity, Madison King has had a great year as an outside hitter. On the freshman team, Michelle Robinson has a wonderful season as the teams libero, for her first time.
This year is wasn’t a surprise to see Pitman Pride’s volleyball team defeat everybody and take the championship and Triple Crown again this year.
