Trade rumors are swirling around the NBA as the deadline creeps closer and closer. There have been many rumors of players going to different teams, but only a few have actually been traded. There have been rumors of the point-guard, Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics, going to the LA Lakers or the center of the Magic Dwight Howard going to the Golden State Warriors or even the Lakers.
One trade that just went through recently was the Ellis and Bogut trade. This was supposed to be a three-way trade by sending Ellis to the Magic to keep Howard from leaving. Instead, the guard for the Warriors, Monte Ellis, got traded for the center, Andrew Bogut, from the Milwaukee Bucks. Many Warrior fans are saying this wasn’t a good trade since Ellis was their lead offensive player due to Curry being injured and not being able to play.
Some rumors are going around that the Warriors want to trade Andrew Bogut for Dwight Howard, which will most likely not happen. Dwight Howard did want to be traded since the beginning of this year because he felt like he wasn’t going to win any championships there. He has not told us that he will stay there and continue playing as a Magic.
CBS reporter Ken Berger wrote in a recent article:
“After posting 24 points and 25 rebounds in a 104-98 overtime victory over Miami Tuesday night — Orlando’s second victory in three games against the Heat this season — Howard told reporters he’s informed Magic management he wants to finish the season in Orlando. The Magic, Howard said after the game, must now ‘roll the dice’ that he’ll opt out and return to Orlando as a free agent.
‘I told those guys and I’ve been telling them for the past two or three weeks now that I’m going to stay and finish the season,’ Howard said.”

Another rumor going around is that the Chicago Bulls want to get the center, Pau Gasol, from the Lakers. Gasol has been up for trade ever since his trade was vetoed that would have brought Chris Paul to the Lakers. Many Lakers fans are saying that they can see that Gasol would not be performing to his best ability because of the possibility of being traded.
There have also been many rumors of Rajon Rondo being traded. These rumors have been ongoing since 2009. Just last week, there were rumors of Rondo being traded for Pau Gasol but it didn’t happen. Boston’s president of basketball operations,
Reporter Danny Ainge put these rumors to rest:
“Rondo’s not being traded, I don’t know how many times I have to say it. Rondo’s not being traded.” He also said, “Rondo, from the beginning of this year, has shown a lot of maturity in dealing with all this, back to the Chris Paul rumors and stuff, Rondo and I have had open dialogue and conversation. He knows where he stands with our organization and how important he is.”
