Starting last Friday, the spring season for soccer started. The girls varsity team, who won CCC last year, stepped on the field with the desire to take first place in the tournament they were hosting. Not only did they loose some of the most helpful players on the team last season, but they gained a few instrumental girls as well. They won their first game 8-O, and from then on dominated the field. They played four games over a two day period, and astonished those who were watching. Saturday afternoon, when the final whistle blew it proclaimed that they were the champions of the tourament. They went undefeated, and exhibited another reason why the teams in their league should be on the look out for them.
Not only is the soccer program proud of how well the varsity team, but the JV team finished in first place as well. They competed with teams that were extemely competative, as well as teams that they could easily get around and drive the ball into the goal. They accomplished a task that no one was expecting, and let other teams know they are determined and capable of dominating any team that comes their way.
Both teams start leauge next week, March 5, and will strive to continue to show their talents and desire to be the best.
