The NFL season has been looking good so far and I know I can’t wait for the playoffs to start. I am pretty sure that other NFL fans can’t wait either. This has been an intense season so far because teams are battling it out for positions in the playoffs. For instance, the Raiders and the Broncos both have the record of 7-2 and are battling to see who will make it in the playoffs; it all depends on who wins their games and who doesn’t. Also, Colin Kaepernick, drafted to the 49ers as a quarterback from John H. Pitman High School got to play on Monday against the Rams.
This week was a disappointment for Raiders fans because they just went from first place in their division to second as they lost to the dolphins 34-14. Reggie Bush, the Dolphins running back, ran for 100 yards and 1 touchdown. Matt Moore, the Dolphins quarterback, had two in hand touchdowns which meant he himself had the ball in the end zone. Also, the Dolphins linebacker, Kevin Burnett, caught an interception which he returned 34 yards for a touchdown. After loosing their first three games, the Dolphins have stepped their game up and won four of there last five games. This was a disappointing loss for the Raiders and their fans but a good day for the Dolphins because they are finally on the right path after a rough start.
The 49ers this season have been doing amazing. They are not disappointing their fans with a record of 10-2. They are the NFC West Champions as they shut out the Rams 26-0. The 49ers have been waiting a long time for this, about 7 years. This game made the 49ers the second team to have a spot in the playoffs after the undefeated Packers who were the first to have a spot. Frank Gore, 49ers’ running back, became the 49ers’ career rushing leader by passing late Hall of Famer Joe Perry. Alex Smith threw one 52 and one 56 yards touchdown. This win bounced them back from a loss against the Ravens on Thanksgiving Day. This game was also the first shut out the 49ers gave to an opponent since 2009. Since the 49ers’ were shutting out their opponents, the coach put in Colin Kaepernick to play a good amount of time for the first time. The 49ers have been looking good this season and I can’t wait to see what they do in the playoffs because they have been playing really well this season. Who knows, maybe Colin Kaepernick is the 49ers good luck charm.
