Rick Perry: A Prospective Politician

Rick Perry: A Prospective Politician

With the presidential campaign season escalating to its promotional climax, a notably “aggressive” Texas governor has been regarded as a top Republican Party contender for this executive federal position— Rick Perry. In reference to an interview with Parade magazine, Perry expressed that he was neither the “slickest politician nor the smoothest debater,” yet, the argument immediately settles when he was quick to mention that he is also a man of truth, a politician that isn’t afraid of honest explanation—implying that this is a concept the present-day American society lacks.

What is perhaps the most heated aspect of Perry’s candidacy is his stance on national issues: among the most prominent are illegal immigration and Social Security. In the eyes of this Texas politician, the insufficiency of the federal government’s security of the border is the chief cause for the increase of national citizenship stress. Furthermore, it was deemed appropriate that he propose an enlightened additive to this issue with a policy that would involve a favored allowance of grants to undocumented immigrants who seek education through public college and university in-state tuitions.

Perry’s approach to Social Security was seemingly contradicted when he mentioned that the idea of “reaping benefits” that are not personally owned attribute to the idea of a “Ponzi scheme”. However, such a comment was denounced when Perry commented, “Everybody who is getting benefits will now be protected”—intending the message for everyone but the “young and mid-career” masses.

The other presidential intentions Perry attempts to fulfill include the continued recognition of Palestinian influence in the United Nations, a strong economic improvement based on Texas state-derived legislation, utilization of economic power to impact foreign policy, and an elaborate emphasis on both military research and development capabilities. Moreover, a haunted executive mandate of immunization for sixth-grade girls in 2007 has followed Perry since his early exposure as a politician. As a co-chairperson for the March of Dimes immunization program, his pro-immunization favor of the vaccine was specifically defined as a legislation that, in this case, required the HPV vaccine as another average immunization—not an opening to sexual promiscuity, an idea believed by his vocal opposition.

The religious and spiritual influences of Perry’s Evangelical beliefs have appealed much to the conservative residents of most southern states, yet there is caution to consider as he himself questions the effectiveness of his anti-secular approach to the electorate, especially in the radicalism of most states in the West and Northeast.

In all, the road to presidency may appear to be far-reaching, for candidates and voters alike. However, what is likely to remain at the hands of political advertisement and propaganda, is ultimately in the fateful preference of the deciding voter. As a result, the public exposure of a candidate’s intentions for presidency is primarily the most essential for the common voter—regardless of the later effects and events of the election.

So is Rick Perry, the true material of a new president? Is he the answer to the national suffering of domestic issues? The answer may be unknown. It is not until you recognize the importance of comparing candidates across the spectrum of politics that you avoid the division of political parties and truly choose who is labeled as most suitable. And that is what answers questions. Make your vote count (perhaps the worst of voting clichés). And yes that means you—sadly this would involve only a small portion of seniors and the remainder of the school staff and faculty. Nonetheless, vote!
