YES Company, or Youth Entertainment Stage Company, is a year-round performing arts program that provides a musical theatre experience for the youth ofStanislausCounty. Participants acquire the lifetime skills of leadership, communication, teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
YES Company was founded by Melanee Wyatt, who remains the artistic director and choreographer. Melanee has won many awards for her work with YES Company including Outstanding Woman of 2005, Woman of Distinction in Education, and the Dreammaker Award. YES Company has also been recognized for its work with the youth of Stanislaus County, winning many awards including the Exemplary Program Award, the Magna Award, and the Outstaning Arts Program for Youth Award. These are just a few of the awards that YES and its creative staff have received.
Originally, YES Company consisted of one show, once a year, during the summer. Since then YES has branched off into several other areas, those being YES Kids, YES Kidettes, and YES Ambassadors.
YES Kids is offered to students grades four through eight. Founded in 2001, YES Kids offers the thrill and enchantment of putting on a show while gaining social skills and strengthening character traits.
YES Kidettes is offered to students grades one through five and began in 2007. YES Kidettes is designed to provide a theatrical experience to students at a very young age.
YES Ambassadors act year-round as cross-age trainers, speakers, and performers for local and state conferences, meetings and special events. YES Ambassadors are carefully chosen to represent YES Company and volunteer as mentors and everyday extensions of YES.
YES Company brings youth together to gain a sense of community through trust, acceptance, and celebration of their differences as they work toward a common goal…a great show.
