However, the third round of five more games awaits, and five opponents who dearly want to knock them off–the Pride can not afford to relax.
The varsity volleyball team not only wanted to defeat their crosstown rivals, the Turlock Bulldogs, because it is one of their most exciting and competitive game during the season season, but because they wanted to go undefeated in their second round. From the first ball served to the last kill from Vickie Rouse, the team played exceptionally well. Rouse contributed with ten kills as well as six blocks, and Sammy Alaniz, from Turlock, has six kills. The gym filled with anticipation every play, with every person holding their breath to see who would win the next point. School spirit added to the intensity of the game, as students from Pitman andTurlockcheered their fellow classmates on.
The JV and Freshman teams were victorious with a 2-0 match score. Both these teams along with the Varsity maintain their first place standings in the CCC.
