Everyone should be looking forward to May 17th whether you are a senior getting your graduation gown, an excited student awaiting yearbooks, or a person looking forward to the end of the year festivities, or you can even all three! Come May 17th the quad will be filled with excitement and Luau festivities.
Yearbooks
Hopefully you were quick enough in ordering your yearbook, only 800 copies were sold – 1300 students missed out. According to yearbook advisor Mr. Jack, “We could have sold an additional 100 yearbooks, except we are required to order for year based on sales by the end of January. We only sold 586 by then. Mr. Hollars and I decided to order more extra books than we ever have – and ordered 800. many students are going to go without a yearbook because they waited too long to decide to purchase one.” You can pick them up in the gym on your way to the carnival on May 17th. At the carnival there will be an area with tables and chairs where you can sign yearbooks and listen to all of the festivities going on.
Cap and Gowns for Seniors
May 17th will be an exciting day for seniors; by picking up your cap and gown in the black box during lunch you will realize graduation is that much closer. Be sure not to take too long picking them up because there will be lots of activities in the amphitheater you should participate in.
Yearbook Carnival: Luau Style
Its time to break out your grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts and leis because May 17th will be the Yearbook Luau Carnival in the amphitheater. We will be having a rally schedule so you will have lots of time to participate in all of the festivities. There will be lots of sports you can participate in including botchy ball, ultimate frisbee and volleyball. If you would like to participate in one of the sports, sign ups will be in the activities office Tuesday through Thursday so make sure you sign up for one of the teams you want to participate in! There will also be games to participate in that you don’t need to sign up for such as a dunk tank, a water balloon toss and a hula hoop contest! If you would rather just enjoy the sun and watch all of the excitement there will be areas for yearbook signings while you listen to music, live performances and a get together with your friends in a photo booth. Because the festivities are luau themed make sure you dress up in your best luau clothing!
