Easy A is a hilarious and clever comedy. Emma Stone, the leading actress, delivers in this film with her continuous use of sarcasm which perfectly fits the role. Emma plays an unnoticed girl named Olive. She tells her friend one small lie that spreads into a school-wide rumor. Now everyone at her school believes that Olive is not a virgin anymore.
Olive has come to enjoy this newfound attention that she had never received before. She begins to have “fake flings” with numerous guys at her school. It all backfires on her when everyone begins to believe that she gave one of her peers a sexually-transmitted disease. Then, she must figure a way out of her sticky situation.
The film references The Scarlet Letter, a book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Olive relates to an adulterer in the story that is highly looked down upon. She is forced to wear a red “A” that stands for “adulterer” on her clothing, in the movie Olive decides to wear one also.
Overall, I believe this movie was funny and well-worth the money and time. I would recommend this movie to anyone.
