Make Pitman Great Again

One of the biggest controversies over the student body at Pitman is the dress up days. In the past, there have been complaints that the dress up days are too repetitive. Now, ASB has changed our dress up days this year and they are getting upset that no one is dressing up, while students think those dress up days are way too hard.

ASB tries to please our school, that’s why there’s an ASB. What students don’t understand is that making plans isn’t as easy as it seems to be. Countless ideas have been rejected and when ideas get approved it’s like a weight’s been lifted off your shoulders because you’re holding your breath hoping something will get approved.

For example, there have been so many “Fitness” days or “Athletic” days. But, this is probably one of the easiest dress up day there is, so you get a better turn out. ASB has changed it up with HoopsComing this year by having a “Las Vegas” theme. Although they were great dress up days, no one has really dressed up because they find it hard to pick out what to wear.

Junior ASB Secretary, Tyler Brackett, dressed as a pirate said, “I just found all of this at home and got creative.”

So it’s not that hard to come up with something or if you want, go thrift shopping and I’m sure you could come up with something great.

Senior Activities Commissioner, Hannah Reza, said, “I’ve seen maybe one other person dressed up. I literally go thrifting and just find random things.”

ASB has this expectation for our student body to show spirit, and the student body has great expectations for ASB. This has been quite difficult to accomplish.

A solution to this problem is for ASB to just stick with the easier dress up days not matter how repetitive or boring. More people will dress up, thus enhancing our school spirit, which is what ASB is all about.
