The second season of the MTV series, My Life as Liz, kicked off to a great start on Tuesday, February eighth. The series follows Liz Lee, an out of the ordinary girl from Burleson, Texas. The first season gave us a background on her life and what she thinks of the narrow-minded people in it. She gave up her popular life to join her “Nerd Herd”. Along the way, with much struggle on Liz’s part, she became friends with Taylor Terry. Taylor gave up her popular friends also, influenced by Liz. They both were friends with Cori Cooper, otherwise known as the “mean queen,” until they became friends with the nerds.
Liz ends up falling in love with Bryson Gilreath in the first season. He had the same feelings for her, yet had a girlfriend at the time. The love between the two seemed as if it was a cat and dog chase until they both confessed their feelings for each other.
Now as the second season begins, Liz is starting her college life in New York. She is struggling in art school, though she makes her friends believe she is happy when she is really homesick. Her relationship with Bryson seems to be struggling in the first episode when he won’t even answer her phone calls. She meets a boy named Louis Michael Johnson, making Liz question her relationship.
Liz misses her “Nerd Herd,” and they decide to go to where Bryson is attending in hopes of mending the relationship. They arrive and soon find out that Bryson has gone to New York. Liz is in shock to receive the news because Bryson never mentioned anything to her. At the end of the episode, all of Liz’s worries subside when Bryson finds her.
The cast consists of Bryson Gilreath, Colin “Sully” Sullivan, Liz Lee, Miles Reed, Tori Langley, Cameron Frittz, Cori Cooper, Louis Michael Johnson, Taylor Terry, and Troy Yingst. The series is comical and appealing to teens because they can relate to Liz and the trouble she faces. The second season is expected to have many surprising and funny moments. Tune in on Tuesday nights at 11:00 PM EST on MTV and watch My Life as Liz to see the “average” life of Liz Lee.
